Atopic Eczema on the Face

Dry, itchy patches on the cheeks, eyelids or around the mouth, often in people with eczema elsewhere on the body.

Contact Dermatitis

Irritation or an allergic reaction to something that touches the face, such as skincare, makeup, fragrance, hair dye or nickel.

Seborrhoeic Dermatitis

Red, flaky skin around the eyebrows, sides of the nose and hairline, linked to yeast that lives naturally on the skin.

Perioral Dermatitis

Small red bumps around the mouth, nose or eyes, sometimes triggered by heavy creams or steroid use on the face.

Eyelid Dermatitis

Itchy, swollen or scaly eyelids. The skin here is very thin and reacts easily to cosmetics and airborne allergens.

Kapan Pengobatan Diperlukan?

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Is facial eczema contagious?

No. Facial eczema and dermatitis cannot spread from person to person. If the skin becomes crusted, weepy or painful, it may be infected and should be checked by a doctor.

Will eczema on my face go away?

Facial eczema often comes and goes. With the right treatment and a gentle skincare routine, most people can calm a flare and keep their skin stable for longer. Identifying and avoiding triggers helps reduce how often it returns.

Can my skincare products cause facial dermatitis?

Yes. Fragrances, preservatives, exfoliating acids, retinoids and some sunscreen ingredients are common causes of irritation or allergic reactions on the face. Patch testing can help identify a specific allergy.

Is it safe to use steroid cream on the face?

Facial skin is thin, so creams for the face are chosen carefully. A doctor may prescribe a mild steroid for a short period, or a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory cream for longer-term control. Avoid using strong steroid creams on the face without medical advice.

Can I wear makeup if I have facial eczema?

During a flare, it is best to keep products to a minimum. Once the skin settles, choose fragrance-free, non-comedogenic makeup, introduce one product at a time, and remove it gently at the end of the day.

What skincare routine helps facial eczema?

Keep it simple: a gentle soap-free cleanser, a fragrance-free moisturiser applied twice daily, and a mineral sunscreen if tolerated. Avoid scrubs, toners with alcohol and frequent product changes.
